Major areas of research and expertise include: 1. The regulatory mechanisms of cell death and their role in metabolic diseases. 2. The exploration of innovative cancer therapies through targeted induction of cell death. Dr. Ren has been published in journals including Cell Reports, Nature Communications, Horticulture Research, The Plant Cell, Journal of Experimental Botany, and Frontiers in Plant Science. Dr. Ren is the principal investigator of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project and Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology.
